Message from the Principal
Dear Teachers, Parents, Students and Friends of Don Bosco Salelologa,
This year marks the twelve years of our birth as a College and as a Vocational Technical Centre (DBCVTC) here in the big island of Savaii. Our shared values from the outset have always been that Don Bosco is a place where friends meet, where families are welcome, where Christians come together to share their faith and a place where young people come to experience joy and happiness. These values are what make Don Bosco education and training unique and exemplifies the coming together of the indestructible forces of the human spirit that stirs up the minds and soul of great people to do greater things. This year with your help and prayers you, the great people of Salelologa and Savai’i, we have together achieved another milestone in our short history.
Following Don Bosco’s registration with the Samoa Qualification Authority as a formal Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Provider in 2015, we made a decision to take the next big step to obtain accreditation from SQA. The accreditation will mean graduates of Don Bosco will gain both national and international recognition of their competencies in their chosen field of study.
Towards this end DBCVTC has undertaken a review of its Quality Management System first developed in 2014 to ensure our strategy for quality assurance and continuous improvement will continue to be current and dynamic. I therefore expect a continuous review of our QMS processes.
Our vision is for DBCVTC to empower our young people and capable citizens through training to realize their aspiration for appropriate and relevant life skills, economic prosperity and self-sufficiency.
In the midst of all these developments however, our values remain strong and I am confident that Don Bosco will continue to be a place;
- where friends meet.
- where families are welcome.
- where Christians come together to share their faith, and
- where young people experience joy and happiness.
Yours respectfully,
Fr. Tevita Nukuluve Lefai
